Shooting Australia 2020 Awards of Excellence – Community Edition

The Shooting Australia Awards of Excellence will this year be streamed live via Shooting Australia TV on the evening of Tuesday 17 November, 2020. You will be able to join us from the comfort of your loungeroom to reflect on the last 12 months and celebrate the wonderful achievements from within the competition target shooting sport community.

Hosted by Jon Harker and Annabelle Williams, Shooting Australia’s ‘Night of Nights’ will this year focus on Community involvement in competition target shooting sports. Due to the lack of ability to travel and compete internationally, along with the cancellation of much of the domestic competition schedule in 2020, the High Performance Awards will not be presented this year. Instead we will take the opportunity to reflect on the outstanding performances achieved over the past four years as well as recap on some of the High Performance Awards that have been presented previously.

Shooting Australia, together with the Member Organisations, would like to thank and acknowledge the work of the many Coaches, Officials, Clubs and Volunteers who are actively engaged in our Shooting Community and have continued to make significant contributions to the Sport during November 2019 and October 2020.

Four Community Awards will be presented during the 2020 Awards of Excellence:

  • Club of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Coach of the Year
  • Official of the Year

Nominations are now open for the Community Awards and we encourage you to nominate an Individual or Club who you believe is worthy of recognition and meets the nomination criteria.

This is an opportunity for Athletes, Officials, Clubs, State and National Associations to submit details about an initiative that may fall into one of the six defined categories. The intention is to showcase as many submissions as possible in the lead up to, and during, the Shooting Australia Awards night.

The Community Acknowledgement categories are:

  • Officials in Training
  • Club Improvements
  • Most Adaptive Club
  • Shooting Community Initiative
  • Inclusivity Initiative
  • Most Memorable Moment

Submissions are now open for Community Acknowledgement and we urge you to provide some information on an initiative that you feel fits one of the criteria.
