Silver Medal for Australian Men’s Shotgun Team in Spain

The Australian Men’s Trap Shotgun Team have won the Silver Medal at the ISSF Grand Prix in Granada, Spain overnight.

Off the back of his individual gold medal, Tokyo Olympian Thomas Grice lead the Australian Men’s Trap Team to a top qualifying position with a score of 218/225. Tokyo Olympian James Willett and Rio Olympian Mitchell Iles teamed up with Grice as they qualified for the gold medal match against Spain.

It was an incredibly tight gold medal match with the scores tied at 5-5 meaning the athletes entered a shoot off. After 6 targets in the shoot off, Australia won the silver medal.

The ISSF Grand Prix saw Australia win gold, silver, and bronze in the Trap Women’s event, the gold medal in the Trap Men’s event, and the silver medal in the Trap Team Men’s event. The athletes now head to their next competition, the ISSF World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan where they will look to continue their international success.
