The Sport Australia Hall of Fame (SAHOF) today announced the remaining 16 Tier 3 scholarships for up-and-coming elite athletes in its 2023 Scholarship and Mentoring Program.

The Tier 3 scholarship group covers 16 different sports, with each athlete receiving a grant of $2,500 plus support from SAHOF and its esteemed member base over the next 15 months.

Upon receiving the grant, Breanna Collins said “To be selected as a Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship Holder it is an absolute pleasure and I am honoured to be given this opportunity to grow as a person and as an athlete. This Scholarship and Mentoring Program means a great deal, as my clay target shooting potential has been recognised, through my dedication and commitment. My shooting journey is still at its early stages and this Scholarship will help support with various training and competition expenses and will contribute to me reaching my ultimate goals to be an Australia Olympian and World Class Performer. Thank you again for this rare, yet exciting opportunity and congratulations to the other recipients.”

Shooting Australia CEO Adam Sachs added “So early in her Trap Shooting career, Breanna has already proven she is very dedicated to her sport and starting to show the potential that is needed to be at the top of her field. At the young age of 19, Breanna has this year been selected as part of the National Junior World Championships Team where she will compete alongside her teammates in Croatia. Breanna will be the fifth target shooting Athlete since 2012 to be presented with the opportunity to be part of the Scholarship and Mentoring Program. Living in regional Queensland and the closest range to train four hours away, this program will provide Breanna with additional resources to enable further engagement in training and domestic competition opportunities as she continues to pave her path in the sport. Shooting Australia fully supports Breanna’s development as an Athlete and congratulate her on being awarded this opportunity through SAHOF. We look forward to continuing to work closely with Breanna on her sporting journey.”

As the nation’s leading sports scholarship program, backed by the Australian Sports Commission and the Australian Institute of Sport, $150,000 of funding has been awarded this year to the recipients for use on resources to help them achieve greatness in their chosen sport.
