High Performance

How does it work?

The primary focus of the Shooting Australia High Performance program is to work with athletes to achieve sustained success on the world stage. The primary measure of the HP program’s success is medals won at Benchmark Events, including Olympic Games, Paralympic Games and World Championships.

Shooting Australia receives significant investment from the Australian Institute of Sport to conduct its High Performance program.

2024 National Team Selection Criteria

When selecting National Teams for major competitions, Shooting Australia release a selection policy that clearly outlines how these teams are selected.

Most selection policies require athletes to meet minimum performance standards in order to be eligible for selection.

This is to ensure we are selecting only those athletes that have demonstrated they may be able to contribute to our performance objectives of winning medals at future Olympic and Paralympic games.
