As was introduced in 2021, the 2025 National Squad athletes are allocated to a squad that best suits their age and stage of development within shooting's athlete development pathway.
The Senior Performance National Squad has been selected by SA's Selection Panel from the group of athletes that met one or more of the following criteria:
- Athletes that were selected to the 2024 Australian Olympic or Paralympic Team;
- Athletes that meet the criteria for Athlete Categorisation with the Australian Institute of Sport in 2025;
- Athletes who, based on the progression of their Average Performance Scores (APS), are deemed capable of qualifying for the LA 2028 Olympic/Paralympic Games; and/or
- Athletes who demonstrated strong engagement in SA's National Squad in 2024.
