James Kitching joins the Shooting Australia Board

Shooting Australia has today announced that James Kitching has joined the Board. Nominated by Target Rifle Australia, Adelaide based James was appointed as a Director on Thursday through a special general meeting of Shooting Australia’s Member Organisations.

David Wright, President of Target Rifle Australia says “Target Rifle Australia is proud to have nominated James for the board of Shooting Australia. We have worked with James previously and know he will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the board.’

James is an experienced senior executive in the sports industry, specialising in governance, regulation, strategy, integrity, and education. His CV includes senior roles at FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation, board memberships in sports federations and sports technology companies, and several sports tribunal appointments. James currently advised the global sports community on these matters through a consulting company.

Of his appointment James says “I am delighted to have been elected to the Board of Shooting Australia and am honoured and grateful to the Member Organisations for placing their trust in me. I am looking forward to sharing my experiences from other sports, and contributing to the growth and success of the shooting sports during this very crucial next Olympic and Paralympic cycle”.

Shooting Australia President Andrew Sims welcomes James.  “We are delighted to welcome James to the Board.  His strong background and experience in international sport and regulation is a significant addition to the Board and its skillset”.

James’ appointment takes the Shooting Australia Board to five members as he joins Andrew, and fellow Directors Deserie Baynes, Robert Maddocks and Gleniss Lawrence.
