Shooting Australia In The Paralympics

A Proud History

Australia has a proud history of Paralympic competition in Shooting with 25 medals, including 15 gold medals.

Shooting was first featured in the 1976 Summer Paralympic Games in Toronto and has featured in every Paralympic Games since.

The Paralympic Games includes 13 events across Pistol and Rifle disciplines.

Paris 2024

Two experienced Australia Paralympians competed against the world’s best during the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre, south of Paris. Competing in rifle events, Queenslander Natalie Smith (2012 Paralympic bronze medallist) returned for her 4th consecutive Games and Anton Zappelli from Western Australia competed in his 3rd. Paris saw a finals berth for Natalie in the R8 Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Position event.

Paris 2024 Paralympic Games: Day 5 Para Shooting Sport Competition

On day 5 of Para Shooting Sport competition at the National Shooting Centre in Chateauroux, Australia’s Natalie Smith, 4 time Paralympian, secured her spot in the R8 Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Position final after shooting a qualification score of 1156.
