Shooting Australia’s objectives are to promote and coordinate responsible shooting sports, both competitive and recreational, within Australia; and to promote and coordinate participation in, and organisation of international competitions mindful of providing sustainable international success.

Target shooting is a sport which features on the program of both the Commonwealth Games and the Olympic Games. Australian athletes have performed outstandingly at both.Shooting Australia is recognised by the Australian Sports Commission, the Australian Olympic Committee and the Australian Commonwealth Games Association as the National Sporting Organisation for target shooting sports.

2025 Officiating Scholarship Program Expression of Interest

Shooting Australia (SA) is seeking Expressions of Interest from individuals who are interested in further developing their officiating skills and experience in ISSF and WSPS.

2025 Letter of Invitation

Shooting Australia invites you to attend and compete in the Shooting Australia Endorsed Event Series in 2025. These events comprise of a number of State Titles, National Titles and Grands Prix across the ISSF (and WSPS equivalent) pistol, rifle and shotgun disciplines at differing locations around Australia.

Shooting Australia Vaccination Policy

Shooting Australia Talent Transfer Camp

Shooting Australia in partnership with Paralympics Australia will be conducting a Para Shooting Talent Transfer camp at the AIS on the 1st and 2nd March 2025. During this camp you will work with our National coaches and our Performance staff.

How to Get Classified

Physical Impairment classifications are conducted by Shooting Australia.  There are 3 Stages in the Australian National Physical Impairment Classification System.  A person wishing to obtain a Physical Impairment Classification must complete the stages - read more here.
